David Platt (born 10 June 1966) is a former English footballer who later moved into coaching and management. A midfielder by trade, he also represented the England national team at senior level.

Playing career

Platt began his professional career in the 1980s and went on to play club football in both England and Italy. During his playing days he was deployed mainly in midfield and gained a reputation for contributing goals from that position. He retired from competitive play in the later 1990s.

International career

Platt earned selection for the England senior side across several seasons, appearing at major international fixtures and contributing important goals and performances for his country.

Coaching and management

After finishing as a player, Platt pursued roles in coaching and football management. He has worked in a variety of capacities, including first-team coaching, management and football development positions.
