Claudine Auger (born Claudine Oger; 26 April 1941 – 18 December 2019) was a French model and actress. She came to international attention in the 1960s for her screen work and for her earlier success in beauty pageants.

Early life and pageants

Auger was born in Paris and began her public career in the world of beauty contests. She won the national title of Miss France Monde and went on to place as first runner-up in the 1958 Miss World competition.

Acting career

In film she is best remembered for playing Dominique "Domino" Derval, a leading female role in the 1965 James Bond picture linked to the James Bond franchise. That part established her as a well-known Bond girl. The film in which she appeared was Thunderball (1965). Afterward she continued to work in movies and television in France and abroad.

Death

Claudine Auger died in Paris on 18 December 2019 at the age of 78, following a long illness.
