Academic career

Tosel taught philosophy at multiple French universities during his career. He held teaching positions at the University of Franche-Comté and at Panthéon-Sorbonne University before becoming a full professor at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. At Nice he also took on administrative responsibilities, serving as vice president of the university and later directing a research centre focused on the history of ideas.
