Wanda Chotomska (1929–2017): Polish children's poet, writer and screenwriter

Life and career

Born in Warsaw, Chotomska began publishing in the postwar period and developed a career focused on literature for children. She is widely remembered as the screenwriter of the television series Jacek i Agatka, an early and much-loved program aimed at preschool viewers. Her work combines an attention to the rhythms of spoken language with an affection for ordinary childhood experience.
