Bruzella was a small municipality in the district of Mendrisio in the canton of Ticino, in southern Switzerland. Nestled in the Muggio valley near the border with Italy, the settlement belonged to the Italian‑speaking region of Ticino and displayed the characteristics of a traditional alpine‑Valley village. Administratively it was recognized as a local municipality until the late 2000s.

The village occupies a steep, wooded hillside and is surrounded by chestnut and mixed forests. Today the area retains its village identity while municipal functions are managed by the larger Breggia administration. Local heritage conservation emphasizes traditional stone homes, chapels and rural ways of life that characterize the valley.
