On 1 January 2014 the nearby municipality of Hermetschwil-Staffeln was merged into Bremgarten. Hermetschwil-Staffeln had been a small neighbouring community whose territory and heritage—including a historic convent site—were incorporated into Bremgarten’s municipal area, increasing the administrative reach and variety of local landscapes.
