Boris Gaganelov: Bulgarian international footballer and coach (1941–2020)

Boris Gaganelov (1941–2020) was a Bulgarian international footballer capped 51 times, who played in the 1966 and 1970 FIFA World Cups and later worked in football as a coach.

Boris Atanasov Gaganelov (Bulgarian: Борис Aтанасов Гаганелов; 7 October 1941 – 5 June 2020) was a Bulgarian football player who later worked as a coach. He was born on 7 October 1941 in Petrich, Bulgaria.

Playing career

Gaganelov was best known for his appearances at national level. Over the course of his international career he earned 51 caps for the Bulgaria national football team, taking part in major tournaments and qualifying campaigns through the 1960s and early 1970s.

Later life and death

After retiring from playing he remained involved in the sport as a coach. Boris Gaganelov died on 5 June 2020 in Sofia, Bulgaria, at the age of 78.
