Spencer Fox (born May 10, 1993) is an American musician and former child actor. He first gained wide recognition as the original voice of the character Dash Parr in the animated feature The Incredibles. After early success in voice work, he shifted focus toward music and performs as a guitarist and vocalist with the power pop band Charly Bliss.
Acting and voice work
Fox began his career in entertainment as a child voice actor. His performance as the energetic young superhero Dash in the popular Pixar film brought him mainstream exposure and remains his best-known acting credit. He also provided the original voice for the character Mudbud in the family film Air Buddies. While he has taken part in a few other projects, Fox is chiefly noted today for these early voice roles and his decision to move into music as his primary profession.
Music career and style
Transitioning from acting, Fox became an active member of the rock and power-pop scene. As guitarist and vocalist with Charly Bliss, he contributes to a sound often described as energetic, melodic, and influenced by both classic power-pop and contemporary indie rock. The band has attracted critical attention for its catchy hooks, dynamic arrangements, and emotive lyrics, recording multiple releases and performing live at clubs and festivals.
Notable contributions and recordings
- Early 2000s: Voice acting credits that established his public profile.
- With Charly Bliss: studio recordings, touring, and collaborative songwriting within the band.
Fox’s background as a child performer and his later work as a musician illustrate a common path for artists who begin in one creative field and cultivate a second career in music. His experience in the recording studio for both film and music has informed his approach to performance and collaboration.
Although he is less active as an actor now, Spencer Fox remains associated with both his memorable voice roles and his ongoing musical work. Fans of animated film and contemporary indie-pop continue to recognize him for the two distinct phases of his career: early voice acting that reached family audiences and a musical trajectory rooted in power-pop and band-oriented songwriting.
