During a career that spanned top European leagues and international tournaments, Eto'o combined pace, finishing ability and positional intelligence to become a leading forward of his generation. He later moved into football administration and public roles in Cameroon.

Club career highlights

Eto'o spent his early years in Spain before establishing himself at clubs that included Real Mallorca and FC Barcelona. At Barcelona he formed part of a team that won major domestic and continental honours. He later joined Internazionale (Inter Milan), where he was again integral to a very successful side and added to his collection of major trophies. Subsequent moves took him to Russia, England, Turkey and other leagues before he wound down his playing career. Across those moves he was noted for scoring decisive goals in league and knockout competitions.
