Richard "Rick" Savage (born 2 December 1960 in Sheffield, England) is an English musician best known as the bass guitarist and a founding member of the rock band Def Leppard. Over more than four decades he has provided the low‑end foundation for the group's commercially successful blend of hard rock and melodic pop, and he remains one of the band's two surviving original members alongside lead singer Joe Elliott.
