Richard James Codey (born November 27, 1946) is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party. He has been a prominent figure in New Jersey state government for decades, best known for his long tenure in the New Jersey Senate and for serving as the state's 53rd Governor of New Jersey from 2004 to 2006.
