Dannel Malloy

Early career and municipal leadership

Malloy began his public career in local government and built a reputation as a hands‑on municipal leader. He was elected mayor of Stamford in the mid‑1990s and served multiple terms. Governorship (2011–2019)

First elected governor in 2010, Malloy governed Connecticut through two terms amid persistent budget pressures and changing economic conditions.
