Early life and beginnings

Raised in the Atlanta area, McClain showed an interest in performing from a young age. Her first credited film appearance was in the ensemble drama The Gospel (2005). Soon after she secured a recurring role on Tyler Perry's sitcom House of Payne, where she appeared over several seasons.
