About Paralympic shooting

Paralympic shooting is a precision sport for athletes with physical impairments using air and small-bore rifles and pistols. Competitors are classified into categories that reflect the nature and extent of their impairment to ensure fair competition. Events test accuracy and consistency in positions such as prone, standing and kneeling over set distances and time limits.

Outside sport, Adams worked as a cattle grazier, involved in the practical and often isolated responsibilities of running grazing properties in regional Queensland. He was known in his local community for combining the demanding routines of farm life with the discipline required to compete at high levels of sport.
