Aminul Islam (1 January 1935 – 29 November 2017) was a Bangladeshi academic and scientific leader. Over a long career he was closely associated with higher education, research advocacy, and the development of scientific institutions in Bangladesh. He was elected a fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences in 1978 and later served as the academy's president, representing the body in national discussions on science and technology.
