Suncheon is a city in South Korea, located in the province of Jeollanam-do (South Jeolla). Much of the municipal area is hilly: roughly 70% is mountainous terrain, and the city contains more individual mountains than any other municipality in the province. Suncheon lies on the southern coast of the Korean Peninsula, which moderates winter temperatures through maritime influence.
