Origins and early development

Financial pressures and shifting circumstances led to organisational changes: in 1971 SK Admira Wien merged with Sportclub Wacker Wien to form FC Admira/Wacker. That new entity preserved elements of both clubs’ identities and histories. Further restructuring and financial realignment in the 1990s resulted in another merger that produced VfB Admira Wacker Mödling, carrying forward the Admira name into the modern era.
