Saosin

Saosin is a post-hardcore band from Newport Beach, California.

Band History

Justin Shekoski of As Hope Dies and Beau Burchell formed the band in 2003 under the name "The Gift". A demo was recorded, but it contained only instrumentals except for one track on which Burchell sang. They briefly found a vocalist in Anthony Green, with whom the EP Translating the Name was recorded. Shortly thereafter, Green left the band to form Circa Survive. Cove Reber joined Saosin as a replacement. After bassist Zack Kennedy left the band for personal reasons, he was replaced by Chris Sorenson. In 2005, the band played on the Warped Tour, among other shows. At this time a video for Bury Your Head was made. The band signed a contract with Capitol Records, which released the EP Saosin on September 26, 2006 and the eponymous debut album shortly after. The band later also played on the Taste of Chaos tour and toured with Bleeding Through and Senses Fail.
