Persian Wikipedia
The Persian-language Wikipedia (Persian ویکیپدیا، دانشنامهٔ آزاد Wikipedia, Dānešnāmaye āzād, 'Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia') is a Wikipedia in Persian. It was founded in December 2003. On 16 December 2004, it reached 1,000 articles. As of 28 July 2016, it had 500,000 articles. This makes it the largest language version in the Middle East.
The Persian-language Wikipedia is censored by the Iranian government.
