Arlöv is a settlement in the Swedish province of Skåne län and the capital of the municipality of Burlöv. Because Arlöv is directly adjacent to the Malmö district of Centrum and the development is continuous, Arlöv is not considered an independent locality according to the definition for Swedish localities (Tätort), but is statistically counted as part of the municipality of Malmö. Arlöv has a good 10,000 inhabitants. For the name part -löv it is assumed that the original meaning was "inherited or taken over property", thus from Ar or Ares (not yet clarified) inherited property.

Arlöv owes its present form to two factors. Firstly, the town grew when a sugar factory was established in 1869. Finally, the Swedish Million Programme in the 1960s and 1970s led to a doubling of the population. The sugar factory is now part of the Danish Danisco group. Other important employers in the town are the Swedish headquarters of Hilti and the Burlövs Centrum shopping centre. An earlier important company was Arlöfs Mekaniska Verkstad & Waggonfabrik. Arlöv's close connection with sugar production is reflected in two statues in and near the central square. The new housing developments of the 1960s distinguish Arlöv from many other suburbs in the Malmö-Lund region, which are characterized by single-family houses. The population structure is characterized by a high proportion of immigrants.

The Södra stambana, one of Sweden's busiest lines, runs through Arlöv. The line is to be upgraded to four tracks.
