Construction required coordination with industrial operations and road links in the area, and incorporated provisions for future network changes.

Gul Circle is served by regular East West Line trains and connects with local bus services and taxi stands that link to nearby factories, logistics hubs and arterial roads. Pedestrian pathways and sheltered walkways help commuters travel between the station and adjacent work sites. The station's role is primarily functional—facilitating peak worker movements and reducing congestion on roads serving the industrial district.

Significance and future possibilities

The station's split-level track geometry is its most notable feature; planners left this configuration as a provision for a potential two-station extension toward Tuas South that could branch from Gul Circle in a manner conceptually similar to Tanah Merah's branch to Changi Airport. As of now, no detailed official plan for that extension has been announced. If pursued, the provisioned layout would simplify the introduction of a branching service without major overhaul.
