Geography and transport

Fowey occupies a sheltered ria where the river meets the sea, forming a naturally protected harbour used by cargo vessels, fishing boats and leisure craft. Short ferry services link the town to settlements on the opposite bank: a foot ferry to Polruan and a vehicle ferry to Bodinnick provide regular crossings. History
