F-sharp major
F-sharp major is a key of the major scale, based on the root note F-sharp. The key of F-sharp major is written in musical notation with six crosses (F-sharp, C-sharp, G-sharp, D-sharp, A-sharp, E-sharp). The corresponding scale and the fundamental chord of this key, the tonic F#-ais-c#, are also designated by the term F# major.
F-sharp major is often described as delicate, light and bright, but see the article Key Character. In the Romantic period, some composers used this key as a musical expression of water. Works in F-sharp major are comparatively rare in literature.
