Appearance and abilities

Maul is visually defined by red-and-black facial tattoos, a circlet of small horns on his skull, and intense yellow eyes associated with Sith corruption. He belongs to the Zabrak species from Dathomir and uses the Dark Side to enhance reflexes, perception and aggression. His signature weapon is the red double-bladed lightsaber, which he wields with acrobatic and acutely choreographed fighting moves. In the original film the role was performed physically by stunt actor Ray Park; the cinematic voice was provided separately.
