Al Matthews (actor)
Al Matthews (born November 21, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York; † September 23, 2018 in Orihuela, Spain) was an American actor and singer.

Matthews served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and left the service after six years as a sergeant with two Purple Hearts. In 1971 he moved to England, where he initially performed as a singer. In 1975, he entered the British singles chart with the single Fool. The title lasted eight weeks in the charts and rose to position 16. He did not achieve any further chart successes, he remained a one-hit wonder. He also worked as a presenter at BBC Radio 1, among others, played at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn and in various television productions.
Matthews had smaller film roles in several internationally successful cinema productions. Most of them were little more than extras and minor supporting roles. He had a somewhat larger supporting role as Sergeant Apone in Aliens - The Return.
