Plot outline

The narrative begins after the events of the previous film: the giant ape survives severe injury but is maintained in a coma by human caretakers. Scientists attempt to preserve his life using advanced medical apparatus, including an artificial heart. When a surviving female ape is found, she is brought into the story to revive the species, and the two animals bond. Predictably for the genre, human plans unravel as the apes escape confinement, leading to rampage, pursuit, and a climactic confrontation in an urban setting that decides the creatures' fate.
