Ryan John Seacrest (born December 24, 1974) is an American media figure who works as a radio personality, television host and producer. He rose to national prominence in the 2000s through his work on the televised singing competition American Idol, and has maintained a presence in both live television and syndicated radio.

Seacrest began in local broadcasting before moving to larger markets and national platforms. He joined FOX 's American Idol in 2002, initially co-hosting its first season.
