Early life and formative experiences

As a child and young adult Williams pursued performing opportunities. He auditioned for television roles in his youth, including an early try for the series Circus Boy that went to Micky Dolenz. A decade later Williams again auditioned for a spot in The Monkees, but Dolenz was selected.
