Oleksiy Honcharuk — Ukrainian politician and former prime minister

Background and rise

Honcharuk trained in law and worked in consulting, business and government before entering higher-level public service. He came to national attention as part of a new generation of officials associated with the presidential administration of Volodymyr Zelensky. Shortly after Zelensky’s election, Honcharuk joined the presidential team and was later appointed to the cabinet as prime minister following a parliamentary vote in August 2019.
