A: When she was in middle school and became very tall very fast, her back started to hurt so she began exercising by lifting weights to strengthen the muscles. By high school, she had become very good at lifting weights and won contests. She was named the school's female athlete of the year and went on to try arm wrestling where she won the world championship 15 times. After graduating high school, she went to college where she got a scholarship for track which paid for her classes and set records in shot put.

A: While working with troubled children at Fresno County Juvenile Probation center and continuing her involvement with sports, Dot was seen at a bodybuilding contest by Shirley Eson who was on American Gladiators. Shirley suggested that Dot should try out for the show Knights and Warriors which was like American Gladiators and she got the part which led to other roles such as Full House, Roseanne, Chicago Hope, Lizzie McGuire, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody etc.
