Cree Summer (born July 7, 1969) is an American-born Canadian performer best known for a long career in voice acting, with additional work in live-action television and music. She began acting as a child and rose to prominence in animation, building a reputation for versatility and a voice that adapts across age ranges and character types.

Career beginnings and breakthrough

Summer's professional career began in the early 1980s; one of her first major roles was the voice of Penny in the animated series Inspector Gadget (1983).
