Overview

Trooz is a municipality in Wallonia, the French-speaking region of Belgium, situated in the province of Liège. It forms part of the wider Liège area in eastern Belgium and occupies a valley setting at the coordinates 50°34′ North, 5°41′ East. The municipality had roughly 7,706 inhabitants in 2007, reflecting a small-town population within a historically industrial region.

Geography and character

The town lies in a river valley in the lower Ardennes foothills, with a landscape of wooded slopes and built-up river terraces. Its setting combines residential neighborhoods with traces of former industrial sites and green corridors used for recreation.
